The September 9 fixture pits a Leeds side in their second season back in the Premier League against Chelsea on their home turf.
A €40M statement of intent
Leeds paid Sassuolo approximately €40 million, roughly £34.1 million, to secure Muharemovic’s signature in July 2026. The transfer was designed to fill the void left by Pascal Struijk’s departure. Muharemovic, who represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 2026 World Cup, checked both boxes.
Muharemovic developed his skills in the Juventus academy before moving to Sassuolo, where he played a crucial role in their promotion from Serie B in 2025 and established himself in Serie A. His profile rose significantly at the 2026 World Cup, including a notable moment where he was fouled by US forward Folarin Balogun.
