Sep 10, 2026 – 5.00amGlobal hospitality operator IHG plans to open 15 new hotels down the east coast, amounting to around $1 billion worth of real estate, as it looks to tap into what it calls the extended stay market, a form of serviced apartment run by a hotel.Over the next 15 years, the hotels giant expects to have 2000 units opening under its Staybridge Suites brand which operates extended stay accommodation, when guests typically stay for a week or more.
