Hunter Biden's LAPTOP memecoin lost 99% of its value in the three hours after it began trading on Base on Wednesday morning, and now changes hands at roughly the same price as TRUMP, the token issued in President Trump's name three days before his second inauguration.
The two tokens have identical one billion total supplies, so their prices are directly comparable as valuations. TRUMP took twelve months to fall to $2.16 from $8.68. LAPTOP got there in about three hours.
Trading opened at 12:00 UTC, or 8:00 a.m. ET. LAPTOP's first five-minute bucket closed at $247.55 on the Aerodrome Slipstream pool and at $225.06 on the Uniswap V4 pool, the two deepest of six venues. By the 15:20 UTC bucket the Aerodrome price was $1.90, a 99.23% fall. The two pools tracked each other within a few percent the whole way down.
The Aerodrome pool turned over $13.4 million in those three hours and the Uniswap V4 pool $11.3 million. Aerodrome's liquidity fell to $691,488 by 15:25 UTC from $1.4 million forty minutes earlier.
Each pool's opening bucket also carries a nonsense high, $6,952,613.95 on Aerodrome and $56,632.62 on Uniswap V4, struck against near-zero liquidity at initialization. Neither is a price anyone could trade.
