Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has called for stronger export controls on foreign components and technologies at every possible point along the supply chains through which they reach Russia for weapons production.

Ukraine’s top diplomat wrote this in a post on X , according to Ukrinform.

“Inside the weapons Russia uses to attack us, we find foreign-made components and technologies. Something is fundamentally wrong when technologies developed in countries that stand for peace and security ultimately end up in Russian missiles launched at Ukrainian homes,” Sybiha said, describing Russia’s latest massive combined attack involving ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as jet-powered drones.

He explained that this could not be regarded as an unfortunate side effect of global trade.

“Russia is deliberately seeking ways to circumvent sanctions, creating procurement networks, using intermediaries and third countries, and obtaining critical components necessary to keep its war machine functioning,” the minister said.
