Fifteen-year-old Xena Jansen is recovering at home after being struck by a car in Bonteheuwel, with police investigating why the driver allegedly left the scene before later reporting the incident.

The teenager was knocked down in Jakkalsvlei Avenue on 3 September 2026 and was taken to hospital. She was discharged this week, and ward councillor Angus McKenzie said she was “recuperating well” after visiting her over the weekend.
