"Just like in 1938, the Poles want to occupy the Czech region of Zaolzie" was the wording of a failed August attempt to worsen relations between Poland and Czechia.
"Once again, the goal was to portray Poland as a revisionist state" was the assessment of the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) think tank. That "once again" was a nod to false reports of supposed Polish plans to seize western Ukraine, including Lviv, that have frequently appeared on social media before.
PISM described the details of the most recent operation: "A document was fabricated, purportedly originating from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs that was supposed to indicate Poland's demands for the settlement of the 'Czech territorial debt'."
