Russian hybrid war tactics are not taking a break for the summer.
The Kremlin is exploiting historical tensions between Poland and Ukraine to weaken Poland's support for its neighbour, which is defending itself from Russia's aggression. Various attempts to exert influence in the Baltic region are also taking place, as well as efforts to profit from political disinformation through so-called content farms, as evidenced in Slovakia and Hungary.
The most important battleground in the disinformation war is the confrontation between Poland and Ukraine – already mentioned in the previous issue of Disinformation Monitor – over President Zelenskyy's decision to name one of Ukraine's military units after the "Heroes of the UPA."
