The electric vehicles will be operated by the transport company Szczecińskie Przedsiębiorstwo Autobusowe Klonowica (SPAK) and stationed at its depot on Klonowica Street. The ordered vehicles are the 18-metre-long Urbino 18 electric. Solaris plans to equip the buses with its High Energy batteries, though the company’s announcement does not specify their capacity or the power output of the electric drivetrain. The manufacturer also does not disclose the order value.
The batteries can be charged both via plug-in and pantograph. The latter enables opportunity charging at equipped terminal stops. According to Solaris, this combination provides sufficient range and flexibility to serve long urban and suburban routes in Szczecin, but the manufacturer does not specify a concrete range.
The order follows previous electric bus contracts with the city. In 2024, Szczecin had already ordered 14 electric buses from Solaris, including four Urbino 12 electric and ten articulated buses of the Urbino 18 electric type. These vehicles were also designed for charging via plug-in and pantograph. After their delivery, the Solaris electric bus fleet in the city was set to grow to 30 vehicles.
