The order includes twelve Solaris Urbino 9 LE electric, eight Urbino 12 electric, and two articulated Urbino 18 electric buses. With this delivery, the operator is expanding its electric bus fleet to include three vehicle sizes, enabling it to cater to diverse operational profiles.
All 22 vehicles will be equipped with Solaris High Energy series batteries and charged via plug-in charging. Solaris has not yet disclosed details about the battery capacity, range, or charging power of the ordered vehicles. No information is available regarding the financial scope of the order either. For Solaris, Sfântu Gheorghe is not a new customer; the local transport operator already uses electric buses from the Polish manufacturer and is further expanding its zero-emission fleet with this latest order. However, the announcement does not specify how many Solaris electric buses are currently in operation in the city.
Solaris is already a well-established player in the Romanian market. According to the manufacturer, it has delivered more than 850 buses and trolleybuses to the country to date, including over 600 locally zero-emission vehicles. In addition to battery-electric and hydrogen buses, Solaris also supplies trolleybuses.
