South Africa's economy contracted by 0.2% in the second quarter, reversing the 0.4% growth recorded in the first three months of the year, according to figures released by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) on Tuesday.

The contraction was the first since the third quarter of 2024, when GDP fell 0.3%.
