Residents have allegedly been left furious after a student special reportedly drew a huge crowd to Davenport, prompting concerns over traffic, noise and the response from Metro Police. Councillor Zoë Solomon has vowed to seek a formal report into what happened.
A large student promotion in Durban’s Davenport area allegedly spilled into surrounding residential streets on Saturday, prompting complaints about traffic congestion, noise, litter and public disorder.
Democratic Alliance councillor, Zoë Solomon, has called for answers from authorities, saying residents should not have to sacrifice their ability to use and enjoy their homes because of entertainment activities.
According to Solomon, vehicles allegedly spilled into residential side roads, while congestion and noise reportedly continued into the early hours.
Residents also alleged that bottles and other rubbish were left in the streets following the gathering.
