Woolworths plans to acquire 100% of in2food, bringing one of its longstanding food suppliers into the retail group after more than three decades of working together

The Competition Commission has recommended the approval of Woolworths’ proposed acquisition of food manufacturer in2food.

The transaction would see Woolworths acquire 100% of in2food, a South African food manufacturer that produces fresh, prepared and convenience foods, as well as a range of grocery products.

Woolworths also said the acquisition was expected to strengthen supply chain resilience, improve speed to market and create greater agility and efficiencies over time.

The purchase price for the transaction has not been disclosed.
