A 30-year-old man was injured when firecrackers stored in a house exploded at Nasiyanur here on Monday (September 7, 2026).Kamaraj, a resident of Nasiyanur, runs a licensed firecracker shop in the locality. He had stored firecrackers at his house. The crackers exploded unexpectedly, seriously injuring his son, Surya, who was at home at the time. Surya was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.Collector S. Kandasamy and Superintendent of Police D. Kiran Shruthi inspected the spot. Speaking to reporters, Mr. Kandasamy said the authorities suspected that firecrackers had been stored illegally at the house.
