Israeli police officers have arrived in Uman to help maintain public order and security during the Rosh Hashanah celebrations.

The Cherkasy regional police reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

“Israeli police officers have arrived in Uman and, together with their Ukrainian colleagues, will help maintain public order and security in the areas where Breslov Hasidic pilgrims are staying and worshipping during the celebration of the Jewish New Year,” the statement said.

The foreign law enforcement officers will remain in the city until the end of Rosh Hashanah.

During a coordination meeting, representatives of the two countries agreed on joint measures to ensure effective public order and security in the pilgrimage area.
