SoundHound AI has officially closed its acquisition of LivePerson, snapping up the digital messaging platform for $43 million. The deal closed on September 4, 2026, two days after shareholders gave it the green light. Factor in debt restructuring, and the total enterprise value lands closer to $250 million.

What SoundHound actually bought

LivePerson’s core asset is its digital messaging infrastructure, which processes roughly one billion messages per month across sectors like banking, airlines, and automotive. The combined company now counts 25 Fortune 100 firms as customers, spread across more than 30 countries. It also holds a patent portfolio exceeding 750 patents.

SoundHound plans to integrate LivePerson’s messaging capabilities with its own voice and agentic technologies, including OASYS, its Orchestrated Agent System.

John Collins has been appointed CFO of the combined entity.
