Some of Nigeria’s equities tied to FTSE Russell benchmarks opened sharply higher on Friday morning, fueled by renewed investor optimism and strong early buying pressure across key sectors.

The morning surge reflects broad-based market momentum as traders step in aggressively following recent economic data and shifting global sentiment.

In line with its plans for Nigeria’s return to Frontier Market status on September 21, FTSE Russell confirmed list of thirty-one (31) Nigerian stocks eligible for its Frontier Index Series. These stocks cut across large, mid, and small cap counters .

The large cap stocks are Guaranty Trust Holding Company, Zenith Bank, MTN Nigeria Communications, Dangote Cement, and Stanbic IBTC Holdings.

Others are: First HoldCo, Nestlé Nigeria, Nigerian Breweries, Presco, and Aradel Holdings. They are the ten Nigerian counters cleared into the Large Cap tier.
