Four members of the Wonder Boys gang were sentenced to life imprisonment for the kidnapping, torture and murder of Vinchernico “Nico” Theron.
But while his mother, Charmaine Curtis, welcomed the outcome, she said her family’s ordeal would not end until his remains were recovered.
“Justice has spoken, but my family is still being denied something every grieving family deserves — the opportunity to bring our son home and lay him to rest with dignity,” Curtis said after sentencing in the Western Cape High Court.
Theron disappeared in June 2021. His remains have never been found.
