Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis met on Thursday with US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker, in the presence of US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle.

During the meeting, it was stressed that relations between Greece and the United States are at a historic high, with bilateral cooperation steadily expanding across a range of critical areas.

The discussion focused on energy cooperation, which is one of the key pillars of the two countries’ strategic relationship.

Recent energy agreements were discussed, along with strengthening Greece’s role as a gateway for US LNG to Central and Eastern Europe through the Vertical Corridor, as well as the participation of US companies in Greece’s hydrocarbon exploration program.
