The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria will recognise outstanding professionals, institutions and influencers who have contributed to the growth and professionalism of the advertising industry at its 2026 Special Recognition Awards.

The awards, scheduled for 23 October, will cover four broad categories: Advertising Compliance, Public Sector Recognition, Private Sector Recognition and Individual Recognition.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Monday, Director-General of ARCON, Olalekan Fadolapo, said the council decided to expand the awards beyond compliance with advertising standards to recognise broader contributions to the industry.

“A lot is going on in the advertising ecosystem. So beyond that, we feel strongly that just recognising the compliance with advertising standard planning may not be enough,” Fadolapo said.

He added, “The committee has requested that they need to look at other areas of relevance. The people that have contributed individually and cooperatively to the growth of this ecosystem.”
