Officials of the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) on Thursday evicted street vendors who had encroached upon footpaths in Hampankatta and surrounding areas.They were evicted as their business obstructed smooth movement of pedestrians. The officials made it clear to them that any kind of illegal encroachment will not be tolerated as the footpaths are reserved for the safe and smooth movement of the pedestrians.The vendors were warned that strict legal action will be taken if they are found illegally encroaching upon on footpaths and conducting business in the coming days.
