Students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, on Thursday blocked major roads around the institution in protest against the 68-day strike that has kept them away from academic activities.

The students, led by the Students’ Union Government, SUG, shut the university’s main gate and roads linking the institution to the highway, causing significant disruption to vehicular movement in the area.

The protesters carried placards with inscriptions including, “Every pending graduate, shey na our lives be these?”, “NASU, NAAT, SSANU have joined strike” and “Enough is Enough.”

They called for urgent intervention to resolve the issues behind the industrial action and the immediate reopening of the university.
