Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Thursday cleared a ₹759 crore project to develop Amaravati Sanghamam at Sakhamuru, besides approving key financial measures to support power-sector utilities.The Cabinet which met in Amaravati on Thursday, sanctioned the construction of Amaravati Sanghamam, comprising the AP State Public Library, Auditorium and Global Institute of Good Governance, through an item-rate contract/EPC mode. In the power sector, the Cabinet approved a ₹950 crore government guarantee for APTransco against a medium-term loan from Power Finance Corporation (PFC), subject to stipulated conditions.It also gave the go-ahead for APGenco to issue corporate guarantees of ₹500 crore to PFC and ₹550 crore to REC against loans availed by Andhra Pradesh Power Development Company Ltd (APPDCL). The cancellation of the allotment of the 800 MW Owk Pumped Storage Project to RVR Projects was also among the proposals approved by the Cabinet.Published on September 3, 2026
