The Udupi police have made elaborate security arrangements for the Krishna Janmastami and ‘Vitla Pindi’ in Udupi city on Friday and Saturday.Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar said apart from himself and Additional Superintendent of Police, two DySPs, six police inspectors, 25 police sub inspectors, 35 assistant sub inspectors, 186 police constables and 50 Home Guards will be on the ground on the two days. In addition, one unit of KSRP, nine units of District Armed Reserve, three units of firemen, two ambulances and three drones will be deployed.For regulating the crowd movement and safety of women and children, ‘Akka Pade’ personnel and some volunteers will be used. To strengthen vigilance in important places in Udupi town, CCTVs have been installed at 45 new places. Public address system will be available at 12 places. Finger print scanner enabled devices will be used by police personnel to keep a check on movement of persons with criminal antecedents. The three drones will help police to keep vigil on the whole area of the programmes, he said.ParkingParking arrangement for vehicles has been made at MGM College ground, Shri Krishna Mutt’s Rajangana Parking area, Ammanni Ramanna Shetty auditorium parking area, Beedinagudde Maidan, Beedinagudde Stadium, Vidyodaya School parking area and at the Mandavi Royal Garden Parking area, Mr. Shankar said.
