Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday inaugurated three newly constructed hostel buildings at the JNTUK University Engineering College at Kakani in Narasaraopet mandal of Palnadu district.The hostels, named Gouthami, Krishnaveni and Nagarjuna, were constructed at a cost of ₹70 crore and can accommodate 1,600 students. The building are equipped with modern facilities.The Minister unveiled the foundation plaque and formally opened the buildings by cutting a ribbon. He later inspected the hostel facilities and reviewed the amenities provided for students.The new hostels are likely to improve residential facilities for students pursuing engineering courses at the institution.Palnadu District Collector Kritika Shukla, Joint Collector V. Sanjana Simha, JNTUK Vice-Chancellor CSRK Prasad, Rajya Sabha member Bhashyam Ramakrishna, Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Narasaraopet MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu and MLAs Chadalavada Aravind Babu, GV Anjaneyulu, Julakanti Brahma Reddy and Bhashyam Praveen attended the programme.TDP zonal coordinator B.T.
