Minister of IT and HRD Nara Lokesh will lay the foundation stone for a 1,000-bed integrated AIG Hospitals campus featuring healthcare, academic, and research facilities at Gambheeram in Visakhapatnam on Monday (August 31, 2026).The project is expected to attract an investment of ₹2,000 crore over five years and generate employment for around 9,000 people. It is being positioned as a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem combining advanced medical treatment, nursing and paramedical education, research and support services.According to the project details, AIG Hospitals will develop the hospital campus over nine acres, while another 2.5 acres will be utilised for a nursing college and related facilities. The hospital will be developed in two phases. In the first phase, Towers A and B, with a combined capacity of 650 beds, are scheduled to be completed by October 2028. Tower C, with another 350 beds, will be taken up in the second phase and is expected to be completed within two years. Once fully operational, the hospital will have a capacity of 1,000 beds and is designed to handle around 5,000 outpatient consultations a day. A dedicated mother-and-child care facility will also be established.Later, Mr. Lokesh will also inaugurate ‘Prema Udayam’, a six-acre Integrated Community Service Centre at Gambheeram, which was established with the support of Dr. Sunkara Venkata Adinarayana. ‘Prema Udayam’, a first-of-its-kind co-operative service centre, will bring together initiatives dedicated to education, social welfare, healthcare, and community service, with the participation of leading service organisations including Hare Krishna Movement (HKM), Age care foundation and The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF).
