The recall covers 2024–2026 Mustang models and stems from a wiring harness ground connection that may fracture

Ford $F is recalling 148,663 Mustang vehicles in the United States over a defect in the engine compartment wiring harness that could cause a loss of drive power or disable key vehicle functions, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
According to NHTSA, fractured wiring harness ground connections can rob the vehicle of drive power or knock out several systems, among them the windshield washer, headlights, air conditioning, and engine cooling fan. The recall covers 2024–2026 Ford Mustang vehicles produced between Sept. 7, 2022, and June 9, 2026. NHTSA estimates 1% of the affected vehicles carry the defect.
