The SACP says its members who are to be removed as public representatives of the ANC in the Western Cape legislature and councils must continue carrying out their responsibilities with discipline, integrity and commitment to the people.
The SACP in the Western Cape has ordered its provincial secretary Benson Ngqentsu and councillors facing removal as ANC representatives in the Western Cape legislature and councils to remain in their positions.
Briefing the media on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, SACP chairperson Anthony Dietrich said the party has issued a directive to all its deployed cadres to ignore the ANC's dismissal letters.
Dietrich said their public representatives were elected to serve communities and advance the interests of the working class.
“They must continue carrying out their responsibilities with discipline, integrity and commitment to the people. The SACP will not allow political intimidation or administrative maneuvers to silence its representatives or undermine the independent voice of communists in the legislature and municipal councils,” he said.
