Ukrainian Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk held a series of meetings in the United States focused on advancing Senator Lindsey Graham’s bill to strengthen sanctions against Russia and Iran.
According to the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States, Vlasiuk met with Democrat Steny Hoyer and Republicans Virginia Foxx, Chair of the House Rules Committee, Brian Fitzpatrick, Co-chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, and Congressman Nick Langworthy.
The Ukrainian official also held meetings with representatives of the offices of lawmakers from both parties and officials from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The talks focused on the need to pass as soon as possible Lindsey Graham’s bill imposing “devastating sanctions” to increase pressure on Russia.
The Embassy noted that Ukraine values the strong bipartisan support in the U.S. Congress and continues to work closely with American partners to ensure that sanctions have the maximum possible impact.
