Russian forces launched another massive air attack on Odesa overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, damaging infrastructure and residential buildings, local authorities said. “Odesa is under enemy attack. Ukraine’s Air Force earlier warned of a threat of ballistic weapons being launched from the south. Air raid alerts were issued in the Odesa region shortly after 2:20 a.m. local time, with residents urged to seek shelter. The military also reported guided aerial bombs, known as KABs, and Russian Banderol munitions heading toward Odesa and the surrounding region. The extent of the damage was still being assessed, and officials had not immediately reported casualties from the latest attack. The strike came less than 24 hours after another massive Russian attack on Odesa and the surrounding region overnight Sept. 1, which wounded seven civilians. That earlier attack damaged residential, energy and port infrastructure, as well as the Orlivka international ferry crossing on Ukraine’s border with NATO member Romania.
