A special police team probing the burglary of ₹9 lakh from an ATM near Somangalam has traced the gang to Haryana, with one of the five suspected robbers arrested by Jaipur police in a separate case.Police said interrogation with the accused confirmed his involvement in the ATM robbery along with four others, who are on the run. The robbery took place at an ATM of a private bank near Somangalam last month. The ATM is located in a commercial complex on the Somangalam–Padappai Road.According to police, the gang entered the ATM centre around 4 a.m. and used a crowbar and gas-cutting equipment to break open the machine and steal ₹9 lakh. Before carrying out the robbery, the suspects allegedly disconnected the alarm system and surveillance camera wires.Based on preliminary investigation, police suspected that the gang was from north India. The suspects were later traced to Haryana, following which a special team travelled to the State to apprehend them.Meanwhile, Pawan Kumar, one of the suspected accused, was arrested by Jaipur police in connection with a separate case registered at the Vaishali Nagar police station.
