South Coast Railway (SCoR) General Manager Sandeep Mathur on Tuesday directed senior officials to expedite critical infrastructure projects, improve train punctuality and enhance operational safety across all four divisions of the zone.Chairing a high-level review meeting with principal heads of departments and divisional railway managers, Mr. Mathur emphasised that maintaining uncompromised operational punctuality requires the systematic closure of vulnerable level crossing gates. He instructed the engineering teams to expedite the construction of replacement Rail Over Bridges (ROBs) and Rail Under Bridges (RUBs) to eliminate route bottlenecks. He ordered closer coordination with external stakeholders to resolve execution delays.The meeting also addressed administrative bottlenecks affecting train velocity and network efficiency. The general manager stressed the urgent need for timely clearance of Engineering Scale Plans and Signalling Interlocking Plans on time so that track and signalling upgrades could be completed within the strict timelines.Officials were urged to monitor passenger and freight movements on a daily basis to minimise transit delays and uphold high punctuality across the network.
