The pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, has risen sharply to as high as N1,350 per litre in parts of Nigeria following successive increases in the gantry price of petrol by Dangote Refinery within the past week.
Checks by SaharaReporters on Sunday and Monday showed that several filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory, Ebonyi and Enugu State had adjusted their pump prices upward, with motorists facing increases of up to N100 per litre within 24 hours in some locations.
In parts of the FCT, petrol was sold for between N1,280 and N1,350 per litre, while some major filling stations in Enugu State raised their prices to about N1,330 per litre.
