MANILA, Philippines — The emergency room of the Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital in Manila has reached 300% capacity as the city continues to deal with patients, including suspected and confirmed cases of leptospirosis, amid recent rains and flooding.
In a public advisory on Monday, the city-run hospital said the continued influx of patients had pushed its ER to three times its regular capacity.
“Due to bad weather and widespread flooding, the Emergency Room (ER) of the Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital is currently at 300% capacity due to the continued influx of patients, including suspected and confirmed cases of leptospirosis,” the hospital said.
