Clipto.AI, a Palo Alto-based startup building on-device multimodal AI tools, has closed a $15 million funding round that values the company at more than $250 million. The three-year-old company says it was already profitable and generating $15 million in annual recurring revenue before it decided to raise.

What Clipto actually does

Clipto.AI processes video, audio, images, and text entirely on your device. The platform handles search, organization, and transcription locally, which means lower latency and better privacy. For industries where data compliance isn’t optional, like healthcare and education, that distinction matters more than a marginal improvement in model accuracy.

The company charges around $9 per month for subscriptions. Clipto reports more than 10 million users distributed roughly one-third in the US, one-third in Europe, and the remainder across Southeast Asia and Latin America.
