As many as 4,167 candidates appeared for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) (PG) examination at 18 centres in Coimbatore on Sunday (August 30, 2026). Of the 4,393 registered candidates, 226 were absent.The examination, conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, is for admission to MD, MS, and post graduate diploma courses.Candidates were allowed entry between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Security arrangements were made at all centres, with uninterrupted power supply, emergency medical assistance and special bus services provided for candidates.Candidates underwent verification and frisking, and were barred from carrying electronic devices and personal accessories.The examination concluded at 12.30 p.m. Some of the candidates said a few questions were difficult, but overall, the paper was manageable.
