Final arrangements have been done for the NEET-UG retest scheduled for June 21 at 15 centres across Coimbatore district.The re-exam is being conducted following allegations of a question paper leak during the NEET-UG examination held on May 3, 2026.Officials said the question paper distribution routes have been kept confidential. Centre authorities will be informed about the collection points only on the morning of the examination. Police escorts will be provided for the transportation of question papers to the centres.Biometric verification systems, jammers and other examination infrastructure were being installed at the centres on Saturday (June 20). The nodal officer for Coimbatore district inspected the examination centres and reviewed the arrangements. Candidates will be allowed to enter the centres from 11 a.m., while the gates will be closed at 1.30 p.m.For the first time, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the duration of the examination from 180 minutes to 195 minutes. Persons with disabilities (PwD) candidates who are already entitled to one hour of compensatory time will receive an additional five minutes.A total of 7,181 candidates have registered to appear for the examination in Coimbatore district.
