Strikes deep inside Russian territory are part of a clear strategy to weaken Russia's war machine and destroy the aggressor's military and economic potential.

According to Ukrinform, Ukraine's Ministry of Defense stated this in a Telegram post.

"Strikes deep inside enemy territory are part of a clear strategy to weaken the Russian war machine," the ministry's press service quoted Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara as saying.

According to the Ministry of Defense, over the past 24 hours alone, the Kirishinefteorgsintez oil refinery in Leningrad Region was hit. This means hundreds of thousands of tonnes of fuel that will no longer make it into the tanks of Russian forces. At the Yeysk airfield in Krasnodar Krai, a large-scale fire broke out following a successful strike. A Shahed drone preparation and launch base in Millerovo, Rostov Region, from which Russia launches drones at Ukraine, was also hit. The "Kover" plan, airspace closures, and air raid alerts were introduced across 10 Russian regions simultaneously. The Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow and Sochi Airport in Adler were temporarily shut down.
