CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — A 70-year-old Aeta died in a landslide in Porac, Pampanga, as heavy rains from the enhanced southwest monsoon triggered widespread flooding and forced residents in high-risk areas to evacuate.

The man was died when a landslide struck Barangay Pidpid on Friday (Aug. 28), according to Pampanga Vice Gov. Dennis Pineda.

The area is about 20 kilometers south of Mount Pinatubo.

Pineda said 30 Aeta families from the area had been evacuated to the Pio evacuation center near the Porac town proper as a precaution.
