Kenya and other African countries have intensified the drive to adopt and implement harmonised standards to increase exports and imports among themselves.
The continent is rallying for the acceptance of single testing of goods, but this has proved a challenge as only a handful of countries have come on board, making exports and imports within Africa difficult.
They noted that it has been difficult for goods to move across the continent because of disjointed standards, hindering plans to expand intra-Africa trade, leaving most countries to rely on imports from countries outside Africa.
