The Revenue and Disaster Management Department on Saturday (August 29, 2026) distributed house site pattas to 490 Tamil Nadu Housing Board allottees in Coimbatore, in the first phase.Minister for Backward Classes Welfare V. Sampath Kumar distributed the pattas at an event held at Kongunadu Arts and Science College. The pattas issued in the first phase were for plots in the Ganapathy area of Coimbatore North taluk and were valued at about ₹14.78 crore.The pattas were issued after the plots allotted to the beneficiaries were sub-divided in the revenue records and their requests for individual pattas were processed, the Minister said.A total of 5,986 Housing Board allottees across Coimbatore district had been allotted plots and pattas would be issued in phases, he said.Under the Coimbatore Housing Board division, 18,841 plots had been developed and 9,603 houses constructed, benefiting 28,326 beneficiaries. Of these, 1,080 houses were provided in the Kurichi project area, 1,505 houses in Kovaipudur and 1,916 houses in Ganapathy. In addition, 4,147 plots were provided in Ganapathy and 2,331 plots in Periyanaickenpalayam.District Collector Pavankumar G.
