The Cross River State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the death of a 29-year-old Bolt driver, Emmanuel Effiong Ita, whose body was found in his Honda City vehicle along the Target–Udy King axis of Calabar on Friday.
Saturday PUNCH gathered that Ita, a resident of Ikot Effanga Mkpa, Calabar, was discovered dead in circumstances the police described as suspicious.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Sunday Eitokpah, in a statement made available to journalists in Calabar on Friday, said the command received information about the incident and immediately deployed personnel to the scene, but the deceased’s remains had already been taken by his family to the general hospital mortuary.
He said a preliminary examination at the mortuary revealed an injury on Ita’s chest.
