The Cross River State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 29-year-old Bolt driver, Emmanuel Effiong Ita, whose body was found in his Honda City vehicle along the Target–Udy King axis of Calabar on Thursday, August 28, 2026.

The command disclosed this in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, and made available to journalists in Calabar on Friday.

According to the statement, the deceased, a resident of Ikot Effanga Mkpa, Calabar, was found in connection with the vehicle, adding that his remains had already been taken by family members to the General Hospital Mortuary, where a preliminary examination revealed an injury to his chest.

The statement read, “The Cross River State Police Command is aware of an incident involving the death of a 29-year-old man, identified as Emmanuel Effiong Ita, of Ikot Effanga Mkpa, Calabar, whose body was discovered in connection with a Honda City vehicle along the Target–Udy King axis of Calabar on 28 August 2026.

“Upon receiving the information, police personnel were immediately deployed to the scene.
