Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner Ketan Garg on Friday directed officials to expedite the process for widening the proposed 100-foot Master Plan Road from Gopalapatnam Junction Arch to Old Goshala, spanning a stretch of 3.10 km. He also instructed officials to take up the works with a target of completing them within 120 days.Mr. Garg inspected various stretches of the proposed road widening in the GVMC West and Pendurthi Zones. Officials informed the Commissioner that as many as 348 properties have been identified as affected by the Master Plan Road widening, comprising 210 properties on the right side and 138 on the left side.The Commissioner directed the Chief City Planner to conduct a comprehensive survey along the entire 3.10-km stretch and immediately take up the road-marking process. He instructed officials to identify the government lands and private properties affected on either side of the proposed road and prepare a comprehensive report. He also directed them to expedite the pending TDR/compensation process for affected properties as per norms and ensure the required Right of Way. Published - August 28, 2026 11:34 pm IST
