Salamina Shipyards completed and delivered four prefabricated sections for the third FDI frigate being built for the French navy, completing its work on all five sections assigned to the vessel.
The sections departed Greece Friday for Naval Group’s shipyard in Lorient, France, where they will be incorporated into the frigate. The first section was delivered in May.
Salamina Shipyards has worked with French defense contractor Naval Group since 2022, supplying prefabricated hull and superstructure sections for FDI frigates being built for the Greek and French navies.
The company said the project marks the first time a Greek shipyard has contributed to the construction of a high-tech warship for another country’s navy.
