The Sri Sathya Sai district administration appealed to the peace committee members and organisers of the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities to make comprehensive arrangements for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the festival, with a focus on public safety, traffic management, and environmental protection.District Collector A. Shyam Prasad and Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar on Friday (August 28, 2026) reviewed the arrangements for Ganesh Chaturthi festivities at the Collectorate. They sought details of problems faced by organisers and discussed possible difficulties during idol immersion.The Collector directed the police to strengthen security along procession routes and introduce traffic diversions wherever necessary to prevent congestion.Speaking to the media, the Collector said that the departments were instructed to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply, electricity, lighting and sanitation facilities at idol installation and immersion points.He further directed the police to inspect procession routes and immediately repair potholes. “Cranes, lifeguards, and municipal personnel should be deployed at tanks, ghats and other water bodies used for immersion. Residents are also urged to install eco-friendly clay idols instead of chemically painted ones to protect water bodies and the environment,” the Collector said.
