It has been a week of significant success in the Sharks’ recruitment drive, with the Durban club fending off reported Stormers interest in star centre Jurenzo Julius while simultaneously landing powerful wing Suleiman Hartzenberg from the Capetonians.

Hartzenberg, a strongly built 1.86m, 97kg backline player, represented the Junior Springboks and South Africa A in 2022. The 23-year-old has also been used by the Stormers at outside centre and arrives in Durban on a one-year loan deal.

He will form part of a Sharks backline that has been further strengthened by the re-signing of Andre “The Giant” Esterhuizen and Junior Bok flyer Jaco Williams.

The Sharks will be particularly delighted that Julius has chosen to keep his colours pinned to the mast of the Sharks’ ship despite reported interest from the Stormers.
