Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office said Friday that there is currently no evidence to conclude that a signal-jamming device was found in the Dragalevtsi neighborhood, despite claims by authorities earlier this week that a powerful jammer had been located and neutralized there.
Alexandra Stefanova, head of the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office, said the investigation remains at an early stage and that the evidence collected so far does not establish the presence of a functioning jamming device.
“Based on the preliminary data, it cannot be concluded that there was a jamming device in the case in Dragalevtsi,” Stefanova said at a briefing.
She explained that operational activities began in the area on August 21, when authorities detected signal interference. The case was formally reported to the prosecutor’s office on August 22. The supervising prosecutor ordered that all people connected with the proceedings be identified and questioned.
So far, investigators have found cables, generators and stands, but no electrical devices installed on them. Stefanova said the items examined cannot, based on the evidence available at this stage, be identified as equipment capable of jamming signals.
