The counterintelligence unit of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) neutralized an FSB spy network in the Donetsk region and detained four people who recorded the coordinates of Ukraine's Defense Forces and monitored the aftermath of Russian attacks.
According to Ukrinform, the SSU reported this on its website.
The Russian intelligence service had tasked the agents with identifying reserve command posts, logistics warehouses, fortifications and routes used by Ukraine's Defense Forces toward the front line. At the FSB's request, the agents also monitored the aftermath of Russian attacks on Kramatorsk to help prepare new strikes and adjust subsequent attacks on the city.
According to the case materials, three of the suspects were recruited through a longtime acquaintance who lives in St. Petersburg and works for Alexander Nogash, an employee of the so-called "FSB Directorate in the DPR."
One of the agents was a driver for a Kramatorsk municipal housing and utilities company. Under the pretext of making work-related trips, he traveled around the city to identify the locations of Ukrainian defenders and pass the information to the enemy.
