Maia Sandu said Moldova, Ukraine and Romania should strengthen cooperation on airspace protection amid Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
She made the statement while speaking to the media following a trilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Romanian President Nicușor Dan, Ukrinform reports.
“The sky above us clearly demonstrates how important our cooperation is. Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine is being felt far beyond its borders,” the Moldovan President said.
According to Sandu, the airspace of Moldova and Romania has been violated dozens of times as a result of Russian aggression. On the eve of Moldova’s Independence Day, Russian drones again entered the country’s airspace “with the obvious aim of intimidating us.”
“And now I want to say clearly in the presence of our friends: we will not be intimidated,” Sandu assured.
