Justin Sullivan / Getty ImagesAug. 27, 2026 Updated 2:17 pm EDTTwo days after golf brand Callaway issued an apology for its Good Good Golf advertisement, the club manufacturer announced that it has ended its relationship with the online platform effective immediately.“Over the last several days, we have listened and reflected deeply on the hurt and disappointment caused by the video we reposted,” Callaway said Thursday in a statement. “We heard from individuals who shared personal experiences related to violence against women, and their stories were powerful reminders that this issue touches the lives of far too many people. Violence against women is unacceptable and should never be trivialized, normalized or used as entertainment.”Callaway admitted that its content review concerning the advertisement was “not comprehensive enough” and plans to strengthen its procedural process. The company also pledged $1 million to support organizations working to prevent violence against women, provide resources to survivors and advance education and awareness.
The 15-second ad released last week generated almost immediate backlash.“These actions do not undo the harm caused or excuse our role in it,” Callaway added. “We sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt, disappointed or offended by this incident.”This story will be updated.Aug 27, 2026Connections: Sports EditionSpot the pattern.
